Day 1 (March 18) will consist of two plenary sessions:

Morning session: “Status and Needs of Earthquake Site Response Modeling”
Afternoon session: “Status of Soil Testing and Material Models”

A reception and banquet at the Doubletree Hotel will follow at 6:00 pm.

Day 2 (March 19) will consist of two periods of concurrent breakout sessions:

Topics will include:

  • Adequacy of current design models, from the perspective of practice
  • Adaptations needed for use in a PBE framework
  • Understanding and addressing soil disturbance issues
  • Issues for “special soils” (eg. gravel, silt, peat, improved ground)
  • Desired model form(s) for new soil models
  • Issues for merging existing worldwide data sets
  • Testing needs for applied and advanced models
  • Incorporating soil data into NEES
