EEW uses real-time data from a network of seismic sensors to detect earthquakes and monitor ground motion. Alerts are issued to people and automated systems to take protective action before ground shaking arrives at their location.

Experience in C++ programming is required; solutions must consider scalability, reliability, and high availability. These positions are through Intergovernmental Personnel Agreements (IPA) or InterAgency Agreement (IAA).
