Job Announcement: Interdisciplinary Engineer, Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration

The ideal candidate for this engineering position with the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration will have a knowledge of the building codes, architecture and/or civil engineering; the effects of natural hazards on buildings, and building codes.

In this position, you will serve as an Architect or Civil Engineer responsible for the application of mitigating the effects of natural hazards. Typical assignments include:

• Advising, developing, and evaluating building code related policies, procedures, and guidance as they relate to natural hazards.
• Preparing technical papers and presentations expressing the Agency’s position on building code issue.
• Providing technical support on the development of technical training materials.
• Acting as point of contact on natural hazards mitigation, and disaster-resistant building codes and standards.

This position starts at a salary of $79,760 (GS-12 Step 1) with promotion potential to the $123,234 (GS-13 Step 10). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration team within FEMA.
