Dr. Yousef Bozorgnia, PEER Executive Director, was recently appointed Professor in Residence in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at UC Berkeley. “Congratulations on this recognition of his scholarship and service,” noted Samer M. Madanat, Chair, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, UC Berkeley.

Prior to this new appointment Dr. Bozorgnia was a faculty member of the CEE department as an Adjunct professor.   He received his PhD from the CEE department at UC Berkeley over 30 years ago and is an active researcher and consultant on ground motion hazard and earthquake engineering. Dr. Bozorgnia was elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in 1998, and he joined PEER over 11 years ago as Associate Director, and then Executive Director.
