New Book: “Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Buildings”

Jack P. Moehle

Jack Moehle

Jack P. Moehle, founding director of PEER from 1996-2008, has published a new book on seismic design of reinforced concrete buildings.

Seismic Design book

Published by McGraw-Hill Professional, Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Buildings provides comprehensive coverage of the behavior, design, and construction requirements for earthquake-resistant concrete buildings. The book covers key topics in seismic design, from performance considerations, through structural materials, components and systems. Analysis, design, detailing and construction aspects are included, along with a complete set of worksheets to accompany lectures. The book is intended to fill a gap in the available literature on seismic design and be the essential reference for graduate engineering students and practicing engineers.

Moehle is T.Y. and Margaret Lin Professor of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering for contributions to earthquake-resistant design and analysis of building structures, and for leadership in engineering education.

Seismic Design of Reinforced Concrete Buildings is available to order on the American Concrete Institute website and through other booksellers.
