OpenSees: New Release and More

The OpenSees Development Team has been very busy! Take a look at their recent updates below.

OpenSees Version 2.4.0 has been released

Version 2.4.0 includes new options to perform thermo-mechanical analysis. In addition there are new materials for:
a) the continuum modeling of concrete structures,
b) the continuum modeling of large post liquefaction of sands,
c) new deterioration models for lumped plasticity modeling.

There are also a number of new elements for:
a) modeling of Triple Friction Pendulum's,
b) stabilized single point integration elements for use in continuum modeling,
c) beam to node contact elements.

For those interested in parallel processing:
a) We are making Windows binaries again available at the download page.
b) The binaries are available through the OpenSeesLab tool on NEEShub. NEEShub allows you to run OpenSees parallel scripts on the NSF XSEDE resources of Ranger, Steele and Hansen (4096, 4232, and 96 processors respectively being available to NEEShub users).

Next Discovering OpenSees Seminar on October 24 & 25

The next seminar will occur on Wednesday and Thursday, on October 24th at 4:00 pm and October 25th at 10:00 am Pacific Time. The session will be broadcast twice to allow users in all time zones around the world to participate. This 1-hour session is titled “Getting Started With OpenSees and OpenSees on NEEShub.”

Simulation session at PEER annual meeting

At the PEER annual meeting on Friday October 26th, there will be a session titled “Simulation and Analysis.”

OpenSees On the Road
