Upcoming NGA-East Working Meetings on Oct 16 and Dec 11, 2012

NGA-East is making continued progress on many scientific aspects of the project and will host Working Meetings on October 16 and December 11.  In addition to the research team members and representatives of the review panel, these working meetings will also be open to other interested individuals.

October 16, 2012 (Path/Source and Geotech Working Groups)
Progress and discussion will cover the following areas:
    – Site amplification models (part of Task B)
    – Regionalization of crustal structure & attenuation properties
       in Central Eastern North America (part of Task C)
Note: the formal SSHAC Workshop on Oct 16-18 is replaced with this single day Working Meeting.

December 11, 2012 (Simulation Working Group)
Discussion about finite-fault simulation validation results.
Note: this meeting will be followed by the USGS National Seismic Hazard Mapping Program (NSHMP) Ground Motions Workshop for the Central Eastern US on Dec. 12 and for Western US on Dec. 13.
