Discovering OpenSees Series: “Adding your own code to OpenSees” on January 25 & 26

The next seminar in the web-based Discovering OpenSees: Surfing the waves of OpenSees learning series will occur on January 25 & 26.  The session will be broadcast twice at times that will allow users in all time zones around the world to participate.  This 1-hour session is titled "Adding your own code to OpenSees" and will occur on January 25 at 10:00 am Pacific Time & on January 26 at 4:00 pm Pacific Time.

OpenSees is a widely used in both research and practice. To date over 50,000 users have downloaded the application. OpenSees is primarily a research tool intended to allow developers to quickly test new theories using the finite element method, whether this be new material, element, algorithm, integrator, solver, …. .The advantage of OpenSees is the ease with which these new components can be added to the application so that they may be tested and verified by the developers. The intent of this seminar is to show just how EASY this can really be.

This seminar covers:

  • – Introduction
  • – Example: Adding a new Material
  • – Example: Adding a new Integrator
  • – Summary and conclusions
  • – Q&A with web participants

This seminar is intended for intermediate users but may be of benefit for users of all levels.
