Changing Faces at the PEER Center

The start of 2011 brings some changes to the staff at the PEER Center.

After nearly four decades of distinguished service, Don Clyde has decided to retire from the University of California, Berkeley. He has managed the UC Berkeley laboratories at the Richmond Field Station with care and commitment. Among his many achievements during his tenure at the labs, he supervised the implementation of the nees@berkeley laboratory, coordinated several upgrades to the large-scale shaking table, and led numerous experimental testing programs.

After nearly 30 years of service to UC Berkeley, Janine Hannel is retiring from her role as PEER’s report editor. Under her careful attention, over 150 reports have been edited and published. Janine’s thoroughness and attention to detail has resulted in a high quality report series that has become a trademark of the PEER Center.

Marcos Saramago, PEER’s webmaster is leaving PEER at the end of January. Marcos has been PEER’s webmaster since 2006 and has dedicated his time to ensuring that the PEER website effectively operates as PEER’s research dissemination platform.  It is to his credit that the website has such a clean appearance and organized structure.

Ms. Zulema Lara is the newest member of the PEER family. She started as the new PEER Subaward Coordinator in December 2010. Zulema is responsible for assisting with subaward administration, tracking and monitoring for PEER research projects and will also assist with other administrative functions.

PEER wishes Don, Marcos, and Janine much happiness in their future endeavors and warmly welcomes Zulema to the PEER Center.
