Professor Jonathan P. Stewart receives the 2008 ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize

Prof. Jonathan StewartProfessor Jonathan P. Stewart has been awarded the 2008 ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize for notable achievements in research related to civil engineering. Stewart has been a PEER researcher since 1997 and has led and contributed to many projects in the Core and Lifelines Programs. Some of the topics investigated with PEER support include site effects on earthquake ground motions (PEER Reports 2005/01, 2003/02, 2001/10, 2001/09), soil-structure interaction (PEER Reports 2007/04 and 1999/13), and seismic ground failure (PEER Report 2002/09 and 1999 Chi Chi Taiwan ground failure data base). Currently Stewart is involved in PEER's Tall Building Initiative, the NEESR Grand Challenge project on Mitigation of Collapse Risk in Older Concrete Buildings, and the Ground Motion Selection and Modification Program.
