2009 Blind Analysis Contest at E-Defense
The E-Defense steel building research team has just announced the 2009 Blind Analysis Contest for a full-scale 5-story steel building. This test will use Japanese steel dampers in the first test of the 5-story structure, and American viscous dampers in the second one. Each participant in the contest is required to predict the test specimen’s response before as well as after it is shaken with the intense near-fault ground motions recorded during the 1995 Kobe earthquake.
