PEER Signs 5-Year Contract With PG&E
PEER has signed a five-year research contract with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to study extreme ground motion at the proposed nuclear waste repository site at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. The project is about $1 million and the original source of funding is the U.S. Department of Energy. In the last nine years, PEER and PG&E have been partners on various earthquake research projects related to seismic performance of lifelines.
