NGA-West 2

The PEER Lifeline’s Program is a co-sponsor of PEER’s NGA-West 2 Program. This multi-disciplinary, multi-year research program improves Next Generation Attenuation models for active tectonic regions of the US in the Western U.S. The NGA-West 2 project extends previous work by PEER that resulted in major improvements of code provisions. The current NGA-West 2 project refines previous models accounting for recent small, moderate and large magnitude events, while addressing several important new issues, such as directivity and directionality, damping scaling, vertical ground motions, and site effects. More information about this project can be found at the NGA-West 2 website.
