GMSM Members present at the 2010 SCEC Annual Meeting
Members of the GMSM Program presented results of their research at the SCEC Annual Meeting. Farzin Zareian, Nilesh Shome and Nirmal Jayaram showed their preliminary results on using simulated Vs recorded time series as input for tall building structural simulations. The session triggered interesting discussions.
New Funding for GMSM from SCEC
Members of the GMSM Program (Goulet and Haselton) are funded by SCEC to evaluate the effect of recorded vs. simulated acceleration time series on structural response.
The first PEER GMSM (PEER 2009/01) report is released
The first PEER GMSM (PEER 2009/01) report is released and available. The report documents the work completed by the group since 2006. Complete electronic appendices are also available.
Goulet presents for GMSM at 2008 COSMOS Technical Session
Christine Goulet presented a research update on GMSM for ground response analyses at the 2008 COSMOS Technical Session in Oakland, CA. View the Presentation.
Final Draft of report sent for review
The GMSM Technical Advisory Committee sent a final draft of their report for review. The report summarizes findings from the first two years of research and simulations on building response. The completed report should become available to the public in early 2009.
Haselton presents for GMSM at 2008 SEAOC Convention
Curt Haselton presented a summary of our findings on GMSM methods for buildings (interstory drift prediction) at the SEAOC Convention in Hawaii. View the Presentation.
GMSM members present at GEESD IV Conference
The group presented a summary of the program and results of simulations at the GEESD IV conference on May 21 2008 in Sacramento. View the PowerPoint presentations from this event which provide a good overview of the Program.
