The application form is now open for graduate students who want to present a research poster at the 2011 PEER Annual Meeting. Apply now!
PEER will select graduate students to participate in the student poster session based on the applicants who apply before the August 15th deadline. Students will be selected based on their interest in attending the meeting, the space available at the venue (which will limit the number of posters possible), the amount of funding available to support accommodations for student presenters, and an effort to achieve diversity in the topics, projects and disciplines in the poster session. Preference will be given to students who are funded on PEER Projects, however students with funding outside of PEER will also be considered for acceptance into the poster session. Students from PEER’s Core Institutions are particularly encouraged to apply.
Students will be notified of acceptance by Wednesday August 24th. Accepted students will be required to attend both days of the meeting (Friday Sept 30 & Saturday Oct 1), and present their poster during the poster session on Friday evening. Students not accepted to present a poster, are still encouraged to attend the meeting, and can register at the Annual Meeting Registration page.
Accommodations (room and taxes only) for PEER students accepted into the poster session will be paid by PEER for the nights of Thursday September 29, Friday September 30, and Saturday October 1. PEER will make the reservation on behalf of the students and directly pay the hotel at the completion their stay. As is customary from previous PEER Annual Meetings, students will be required to share room. All attendees are responsible for their own incidental room charges such as telephone, room service, movies or other miscellaneous items.
A young researcher symposium may also be organized on Thursday September 29. Students accepted into the poster session may also be selected to attend this event. Additional accommodation may be made by PEER at the conference hotel for Wednesday September 28 if needed by the selected participants.
