LA Tall Building Seismic Design Council Conference: Design Showcase - May 7, 2010
The Los Angeles Tall Building Seismic Design Council (LATBSDC) is hosting its annual conference on Friday May 7, 2010 from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm in Los Angeles.
The LATBSDC 2010 conference will showcase new tall building designs and case studies that have been completed using contemporary performance based seismic design procedures. Various speakers will be presenting their tall building design and analysis projects. Additionally, with funding from the California Seismic Safety Commission, several participants from PEER’s Tall Building Initiative will also present the new design guidelines and case studies.
The LATBSDC reconnaissance team to Chile will also provide a briefing on what the implications of that M8.8 event could be for tall buildings in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
