The Annual Meeting technical program and hotel rooming arrangements have been made at the same venue, the Hotel Shattuck Plaza at 2086 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94704. The Hotel Shattuck Plaza, is at the west side of the UC Berkeley Campus, in downtown Berkeley at the corner of Shattuck Ave and Allston Way, within steps of the downtown Berkeley BART station. This convenient all-in-one location should make it an easy meeting to attend for those traveling from far distances by airplane, and those traveling from within the Bay Area.
Room Reservations:
Arrangements have been made with the Hotel Shattuck Plaza to provide rooms for Annual Meeting attendees at a discounted rate. You can book a room in two ways:
- Call the Hotel Shattuck at 510-845-7300 (or toll free 866-466-9199) and ask for the PEER (Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Ctr, UCB) group rate.

IMPORTANT: To get the group rate you will need to click on the Corporate/Preferred Accounts option at the top left hand side of the page. This will prompt you to enter the courtesy rate code (PEER10). Once the code is entered, the discounted rates and the available room types for the selected dates will be displayed.
It is a busy time in Berkeley during October and the Hotel Shattuck Plaza is nearing capacity. If you are coming from a long distance and will need a room, make your reservation ASAP. If the Hotel Shattuck Plaza runs out of rooms, we suggest you consult PEER’s list of local accommodations to find information about hotels and motels in the area.
Please note that PEER researchers will need to pay for their own travel and hotel expenses, as PEER will not be covering these costs.

The hotel is located in the downtown Berkeley so it is easily accessible to both the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Oakland International Airport (OAK) via BART (subway trains) which stops within one block of the hotel at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station. For attendees who drive, there is a parking garage across the street (PCI Parking at 2061 Allston Way) that charges a daily rate of $2.50 per hour with a maximum of $14.50 per day plus a minimum additional overnight charge $5 per night. There is also parking available at the Standard Parking lot at 2020 Kittredge Street.
